Chakras and essential oils:

with Gina Garris and Janet Bergin

Sunday 2/24 1:00-3:00pm

cost: $25.00

About the Workshop:

This is NOT your typical yoga or essential oil workshop — and we are definitely NOT your typical “teachers” (we are real, raw and get vulnerable…..oh, and a few f-bombs may likely be dropped). This phenomenal experience will help you learn a little bit about essential oils, a little bit about chakras, and A LOT about yourself. We will definitely be doing movement – but none like you’ve done before. (ALL LEVELS WELCOME – seriously, ALL LEVELS!!!)

Empower Your Oils is podcast about essential oils bringing play and magic together with a saucy twist. This class is NOT an essential oil class — however, this is what we do and why we are different! We will be using and talking about this powerful plant medicine and after class you can stay and learn how to get your own oils.

About the teachers:

Gina Garris is a lover of LOVE. She has infused her life with sharing love as a woman, healer, teacher, and mentor. Gina naturally creates a sacred space of awareness, acceptance, and appreciation of all aspects of you and encourages you to do the same. She weaves in magic and ritual in all aspects of her life, including a sacred pooping ritual. Who does that, right? Gina loves crab-cheese wantons, donut holes, and long love-making sessions. She enjoys white cake for breakfast and oddly, doesn’t care for anything chocolate. Believe it! She’s afraid of the dark so she’s a twinkle light junkie. Gina thrives on facilitating sexuality and sacredness conversations, inviting more playfulness into a seemingly uptight world. You can find her at blisscoach.com

Janet Bergin is a Creative Brand Coach and the SHE-E-O of Empower Your Awesomeness. In addition to her enthusiasm about essential oils, she helps women bring joy and life to their businesses. Janet loves making imperfect pottery, spending time with friends, laughter, and cocktails. She is a Kundalini yoga teacher and can actually do a headstand….Janet is obsessed with personality quizzes, loves watching movies at the theater WITH popcorn, making art and has a passion for advocating for women. You can find her and all her awesomeness at empoweryourawesomeness.com

Advanced Asana 101 Workshop: Practice Variations and Modifications

Fulfills 3 hours of YA continuing education

a yoga workshop with Mike Matsumura

Sunday April 13th, 2019. 5:00pm-8:00pm

Cost: $30.00 pre-register, $35.00 day of

About the workshop:

What are Variations and Modifications?

After working on a particular posture for a certain amount of time, the natural progression is to move toward achieving advanced variationsof that same posture.  This offers challenge to the physical body and to the mental body.  An example would be taking Pigeon Pose into King Pigeon.

In order to achieve different stages of variations, modification techniques can be used to move in that direction.  We will explore these kinds of modifications.  An example would be working on Lotus Headstand, but first, one must work on Half-Lotus Headstand in order to achieve Full-Lotus Headstand.

This workshop is geared for everyone including teachers who want to offer advanced options in their classes. One of the best ways to learn is experience. We will work with you slowly and get you ready for Sunday’s Hatha Raja Class!

What you can expect in this workshop:

  • A strong warm-up using vinyasa flow, which will prepare you to open, stretch, and synchronize body and mind required for inversions, arm balances, and advanced practices.
  • You will learn different advanced variations and modifications, as taught to Mike by Sri Dharma Mittra.
  • The focus will be on advanced variations using props to advance one’s practice safely.
  • This workshop is also perfect for teachers who want to offer advanced modifications for their classes.
