Bryan Fredrickson (RYT 200)

Bryan’s outlook on life is shaped by his interest in both science and philosophy.  Graduating from CU Boulder in 1979 with a Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, Bryan went on to attend Catholic University Law School in Washington, D.C.  It is during this period in his life that Bryan first came across the Bhagavad Gita.  To this day he considers the Gita one of the more eloquent and demanding spiritual texts ever written and an ever-present companion on his spiritual journey.  Although an Episcopalian, Bryan finds encouragement and meaning from texts across several different religious traditions.  A self-described contemplative, he disappears for a week every year for a silent retreat at a Benedictine monastery in New Mexico.  He also has a love of music whether jazz, classical, chant, big band or classic rock. Bryan considers the practice of yoga to be a challenging training ground for the development of both the human body and the mind.  As a practicing attorney, Bryan has found that a consistent yoga practice creates harmony, balance, and contentment in an otherwise stressful world.  Married to Jill since 1981 (also a yoga practitioner), they are blessed with three grown children, Alexa, Jenna and Hale, and their cat Sunshine.
